What is it about Nebbiolo? with The Piedmont Guy, Tuesday April 7

Last season, we walked on the wild side of Piedmont with Cameron Abbott of importer The Piedmont Guy, which, as you might guess, brings exclusively Piedmontese into the US. This spring, as the first grape buds are emerging in the cool hills of Serralunga and La Morra, we’re headed back to the legendary territory synonymous with Nebbiolo. 

What is it about Nebbiolo that allures? Endlessly ageable and wildly expressive, it’s one of those spiritual grapes that can tell stories of ancient soil and monkish devotion. From Luigi Giordano’s champagne method Nebbiolo to Oddero’s vintage treasures, we’ll explore all the ways that Nebbiolo beguiles. Over the course of two hours, we’ll experience the light and levity of Giacamo Fennocchio, the muscular sculpture of Roccheviberti, and perhaps even a visit from a Carema newcomer.
