FROM GUY BOCARD:
THE WINE: Guy Bocard farms old-vine Chardonnay across several north-facing Meursault lieux-dits including Les Durots, En la Barre, and Les Dressolles. Vines average 50 to 80 years, rooted in clay-limestone soils. The fruit is hand-harvested and fermented with native yeasts in French oak, about 25% new. The 2022 was aged 12 months in barrel and 6 in tank before bottling. It’s a structured, vibrant Meursault with floral lift, firm mineral backbone, and aging potential.
THE PRODUCER: Guy Bocard is a small family producer working a tiny collection of vines in the heart of Meursault. They have always been organic and are working to obtain certification now.
