THE WINE: A blend of Espadeiro, Amaral & Vinhão. This blend of the driest red grapes of the region has a rhubarb meets grapefruit nose, with passionfruit on the palate and a dry finish, a bit of spritz, and a lot of acidity to keep us satiated. Though this is vinho verde in its true essence, we also feel that Conta-Me VV is a grown up version of what most know the region for.

THE PRODUCER: We tell the little stories of Portugal. That’s what we’ve done since day one. “Conta-Me Portuguese Tales” is where we’re sharing them. This collection of wines will give us an opportunity to work with the producers, regions, styles, and terroirs that continue to excite us in Portugal…and to create something that makes us think (and taste) of the Portugal of Luis’s parents and grandparents - a generation that wasn’t fussy about the fruit of the vine and who enjoyed every drop as part of their daily gastronomic ritual.

It feels quite freeing to explore the richness of a country through its wines…and Portugal has something very special to share.
