THE WINE: A very good year, with plenty of time to take care of the vineyard. Plenty of sunshine, some beneficial rain and an early harvest with easy fermentations. Wine style is very pure.

THE PRODUCER: Domaine Bobinet is a small (4 ha) estate in Saumur helmed by Sébastien Bobinet, seventh generation farmer here who trained with Clos Rougeard, and his partner Emeline Calvez, who left her work as a sommelier and dancer to join Sebastien in the vines in 2012. The wines are characterized by clarity and friendliness found too rarely in this region. In their words: “We simply want to work following an ethic we hold dear, the pillars of which are: Health, ecology, enjoyment, quality, humanity, sustainability.”
