Cowhorn "Spiral" White Blend, Applegate Valley, Oregon 2023

FROM COWHORN:

THE WINE: 43% Viognier, 40% Roussanne, 17% Marsanne. Picked by hand along a continuum of ripeness, each variety and block is pressed, settled and fermented in barrel without yeast or any other additions. It is assembled and sulfured just before bottling. Aromas of lemon and grapefruit juice and zest, cut apples, and white flowers dominate the 2022 Spiral, with elements of mixed fresh herbs and wet stones. The texture gives breadth and suppleness through the mid-pallet and finishes with a thirst quenching vibration of acid and tannin.

THE PRODUCER: A certified Biodynamic winery and farm, Cowhorn Vineyard & Garden is nestled in the fertile Applegate Valley of southern Oregon, just a few miles north of the California border. Cowhorn’s nature-focused farming and harmony with the ecosystem as a whole provides a site-specific wine that represents a sense of time and place. Vinified using a low intervention approach, the result is an unmistakable wine that reflects the healthy, nutrient rich vineyard from which it comes.
